Snoopy, A Celebration of a Life Well Lived

A black and white side profile of an old dog.

I had the privilege of being asked for an end of life photoshoot of Snoopy, the dog of our close friends. Snoopy was sadly being put down during the week after the photoshoot and they wanted a relaxed walk to capture his attitude and the special things he did with them. It was a lovely slow walk, talking over their plans for the next week with him, sharing memories and playing with Snoopy while watching for peaceful or fun moments together.

A couple kneels with a black dog on green grass in a foggy park, surrounded by trees. They smile warmly.

I think it is so important to get these last memories with your best friend, I always wish I had more photos of myself with my childhood dog, but luckily have many images of him, showing his character and his silly quirks.

It is also valuable to have someone to talk to, who might know what you are worried about and can empathise, give advice or just listen and enjoy your stories and happy memories of a life well spent together.

This is something I would love to do more of and try and help owners/families enjoy and hour with their pet.

Snoopy, you were a best friend, protector, comfort and constant force in their lives for 15 and a half years, all good dogs go to heaven.
